In The Early Morning (March 1997) capo 2 play in D (key E) It’s so quiet here in the early morning Fog on the river, birds sing new Spring tunes Just lying here in the early morning Feeling at peace and thinking of you Down in Kentucky in the early morning you met my eyes and pledged a love you said was true and from that time in the early morning the daybreak finds me thinking of you I remember you in the early morning Skin kissed by sunlight your eyes a gentle hue I reach for you in the early morning But all I can touch are memories of you There’s a gentle breeze in the early morning A new day coming and I must rise up soon But I love it here in the early morning Just lying quietly thinking of you

A Year And A Day (Feb 98) Am Dm Em Am / C G Em Am My lady don’t you weep for the love you couldn’t keep My lady don’t you weep, don’t you cry It’s been a year and a day, since you bid me far away My lady, don’t you weep, don’t you cry Twas in the midst of spring as the geese fly north again My lady don’t you weep, don’t you cry With your warm touch on my skin, my heart flew with the wind My lady don’t you weep, don’t you cry Now a last cold winter storm pounds my windows, shakes my doors My lady don’t you weep, don’t you cry I listen to trees as their limbs are breaking free My lady don’t you weep, don’t you cry May the love you couldn’t give, find it’s place elsewhere and live My lady don’t you weep, don’t you cry I’m forever gone away, it’s been a year now and a day My lady don’t you weep, don’t you cry

I Still Dream of You (June 99) D Bm G A I gave up wishing you’d come back to me No longer wondered if your heart was still free But I’d be lying if I said you didn’t haunt my dreams I still dream of you I haven’t loved another since you left I haven’t felt the spark we knew when we met But I stopped crying, picked up the pieces and tried to forget I still dream of you I know it fell apart, I can’t bring you home But I’d go back to when your heart was my own And you’d be sighing, the way we loved before it all went wrong I still dream of I hope you found what you went looking for I offered love, you wanted something more And left me dreaming, I still dream of… I’ll go on thinking of you once in awhile Remember your caress, remember your smile I’ll just be dreaming, I still dream of you.
